I created the image visual for Asia-ARVO 2015. Since the ophthalmologist Dr. Tsubota is the chairman of the conference, I decided to make the characteristic brightness of the eyes and of Asia as the themes of the illustration. Since I was a child, I have been interested in works which featured many “eyes.” For me, works with eyes as the subject were an experimental attempt. My work may have achieved success because it ran counter to the idea of existentialism. My work pleads, “You are here.”
